300 metres on the Kuranda Station is undoubtedly an allweather, covered heritage market, abounding with wood jewellery, feather bellybutton cleaners, aboriginal art, and all of hippie sections and bobs. For a lunch involving emu with mustard, slim kangaroo with barbeque sauce, along with bland crocodile spiced with sweet chilli sauce, almost all cooked slowly on a scorching rock in one of the little cafs which dot this town, I look at the bad weather pour straight down.
